I am sooo happy that you and your son loved the soup!!! Also very happy to hear that you love the pro tips, thank you so much for taking the time to come back and leave a review! πŸ™‚ The orange thing in the process shots is a Kitchen Aid colander with a handle and it looks like they don’t make them anymore, but this is something similar!

In reply to Stephanie.

Thank you Stephanie. The soup was delicious! I made it exactly as you directed, no changes or substitutions. My son gave it a big thumbs-up. I’ve bookmarked this and will be my go-to recipe. I love that you provided alternatives for add ins so that gives me a lot of options to explore.
The scoop ladle is the fifth picture (in the pair of 6) and shows draining the bow tie pasta. It is orange with a metal handle. Thank you again.

Hi Susan! Very excited for you to try this recipe as well! The only scoop I’m using in the process shots is a black soup ladle, which is the image that shows the turkey being added to the soup. It’s just a plastic black ladle, I don’t have a link as I’ve had it for a very long time πŸ™‚ If this isn’t what you were referring to just let me know and I’ll help! πŸ™‚

I pulled 2 quarts of turkey stock (made from turkey carcass in December) out of the freezer to make this soup recipe — for the first time tonight! From reviewing your ingredients list, along with your narrative, I’m positive this will be the best homemade turkey soup I’ve made yet. I also happened to have a block of parmigiano reggiano in the fridge so I’m adding the rind to the soup as it simmers. I will be cooking ditalini pasta to add to the soup bowl. I know that there will be soup left over to freeze for another dinner.
I checked out your kitchen essentials link hoping to find the scoop colander shown in one of your pictures. I didn’t see it listed. Can you point me to the manufacturer or brand name? I love it. Must have one! Thank you.

I’m so glad that you love the soup Malinda!! πŸ™‚ You can add the soup right at the beginning for the slow cooker method!

Hi! Doing the crock method this time (made it stove top before and loved it!!). At what point should I add the cream of chicken soup??? At the beginning or after been cooking for a while??Β

Simple and easy. Needed to add salt to taste but that is not a problem. Thank you for the recipe.

Really good! I couldn’t find the mustard in the spice cabinet, so I skipped it. I used leftover turkey bones from Thanksgiving (frozen) and while we were a bit shy on the meat, the soup still had a lot of rich flavor!
